Constant touring, recording, and soundtrack work just aren't enough to keep Nick Cave busy. He needs to write books too. According to Billboard.com, the iconic Aussie rock star will publish his second novel, The Death of Bunny Munro, in September 2009. Cave's first novel, And the Ass Saw the Angel, was published in 1989.

Billboard.com's report says The Death of Bunny Munro "traces the fortunes of one man and his son on a road trip around the south coast of England following the suicide of his wife." So yeah, total coffee table book.

Canongate has world rights to Bunny Munro, and the publisher has quite a promotional plan for the book's release, including a signed and numbered limited edition, an audio book narrated by Cave, and an e-book featuring Cave's narration over "an original 'soundscape.'"

The next stop of Cave's current tour with the Bad Seeds is tomorrow night in New York City. It was also recently announced that Cave and the Bad Seeds will both curate and headline the inaugural All Tomorrow's Parties Australia festival, taking place in January 2009.

[Totally unrelated-- but apparently Nick Cave's son Jethro is a fashion model!-- Ed.]
