Following in the well-tread jogger's path of LCD Soundsystem, Aesop Rock, and A-Trak (and beating Fujiya & Miyagi to the finish line), Simian Mobile Disco are the latest to craft one of those running soundtracks for Nike. [Via NME.com].

It's called Run, it's 27:37 in duration-- though there's a 5:42 "edit" should you care to take a lap or two around the dancefloor-- and it's available on iTunes now.

Of course, downloading Run pretty much requires you to get off your ass and "run" or whatever you weird people do, and that also probably means you'll feel like a fat slob if your workout doesn't last the full 27:37. But hell, it's half as long as LCD Soundsystem's 45:33.

In other SMD news, we ran down a whole mess of stuff James Ford's been up to lately in a recent story, including his work with the Last Shadow Puppets, Klaxons, and on a new Simian Mobile Disco album he and SMD co-conspirator James Shaw are plotting for next year. New to us, however, are a ton of recently scheduled appearances through the fall and winter. Most find the two on the wheels of steel, but there's the odd "live" date in there as well. They'll close out 2008 with a trio of live engagements in the run up to Christmas time.
