Annie's Don't Stop Delayed, "Hearts" Gets Single
Hey...wasn't there an Annie album coming out this month or something? Well, yeah, there was, but no longer. Annie brought a little bad news on the fate of Don't Stop to a post on her MySpace blog recently, calling herself "a typical Scandinavian perfectionist" as a way of explaining that we won't be seeing a proper version of the new album in stores until 2009.
Annie writes that, while a tentative tracklist was in place at once point, she "had these other songs that I thought were just too good to not be on the album so I put my foot down and made my label put the record back to next year." Hey, usually that works the other way around, so good on you! Annie claims to be working with producer Paul Epworth on the new tunes, which it seems will surface when Don't Stop arrives January 26 overseas via Island. No word just yet on the set's new North American release date.
Annie will, however, be releasing some music before October's up, in the form of a 12" and CD single for her Forkcasted cover of Stacey Q's "Two of Hearts". The tune's due October 27 from Island.
Annie, meanwhile, is due in a couple European cities in the coming weeks for live dates. Boy, you'd think all those late nights might throw off a perfectionist such as Annie, but I guess she's just that damn good.
