Bush Tetras, James Chance Play Benefit for Bassist

Laura Kennedy, original bassist for New York City post-punks Bush Tetras, needs a liver transplant post-haste. As such, a coterie of Kennedy's closest friends and well-wishers will gather at NYC's Cake Shop on October 26 to raise funds for the Laura Kennedy Liver Fund.

Beyond a set from the current Tetras, the evening will feature performances by James Chance, longtime Patti Smith pal and guitarist Lenny Kaye, Radio I-Ching (featuring current Tetras drummer Dee Pop), one-time Voidoid Ivan Julian, B-52s associate Pat Irwin, and plenty more acts from the post-punk generation and beyond. And even if you're not in the NYC area, you can always donate to Laura's cause directly through the LKLF website.

The Tetras are planning another benefit for Kennedy in Minneapolis, details TBA.
