Girl Talk Video Blogs From Tour, Animals CD Delayed
As you might imagine, a hell of a lot more goes into a Girl Talk tour than proper hydration and finding the right plug for Gregg Gillis' laptop. Good thing, then, for the Girl Talk fall tour video blog! Comprised of footage of Gregg and his touring companions making their way around North America as you read this, the nearly daily video dispatch series offers up all the greasy food, pool-adjacent horseplay, and cameos from Gillis family members you can stand, with more sure to come.
The tour is, of course, in support of Gillis' recent Feed the Animals. The album has been out digitally since this summer, but production/artwork delays have kept the CD off your shelf in the wake of its original September 23 release date. Feed the Animals will now hit CD November 11 from Illegal Art, with details of the vinyl issue on Wham City still forthcoming.
In other murmurs from the Girl Talk camp, someone's holding an eBay auction for Gillis' Michael Jordan sweatband, which was swiped from "a place where he used to sleep very often" and probably contains the kind of sweat no OxiClean could remove.
Finally, recall The Basement Tapes, the digital music documentary featuring Gregg Gillis? It's now called RiP: A Remix Manifesto, it's screening here and there throughout the fall, and it apparently also includes an appearance from Gillis' dad!
