Mark Kozelek Bundles Oldham, Low, Husker Du Covers
Sure, Mark Kozelek can knock out a supple tearjerker all by himself. But dude's got a way of upping the frown factor in just about any old tune, something he's done quite a bit over his storied career.
Eight of Kozelek's many covers and a couple originals make up The Finally LP, due out in limited quantities December 9 from Mark's own Caldo Verde imprint. The disc has Mark tackling songs from Will Oldham's Palace Music, Low, Hüsker Dü, AC/DC, Dom Leone (Ed's Redeeming Qualities), and Kath Bloom, plus a Stephen Sondheim showtune and even a number from the delightfully insane kids' program "Yo Gabba Gabba!". Most of the tracks come from hard to find compilations, while a few have never been released previously.
Mark will cover a lot of ground over a week-long solo tour that kicks off November 7 in Virginia.
