Foo Fighters to Deliver Live DVD
It takes an awful lot of people to fill up London's Wembley Stadium: more than 80,000 of 'em, to be imprecise. But damn if they didn't all come down to Wembley two nights in a row this past June to see Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins, and Dave Grohl-- collectively known as the Foo Fighters-- bowl over Londontown with a little help from some friends.
Eighteen tunes from the two-night run have been collected on Live at Wembley Stadium, due on DVD and Blu-ray November 18 from RCA. In addition to the typical Foo ballast, there's a semi-acoustic performance smack in the middle of the set comprised of "My Hero", Grohl's own Nirvana B-side "Marigold", "Cold Day in the Sun", and more. And the four-piece lineup is bolstered at times by Wallflowers organist Rami Jaffee, string slinger Jessy Greene, percussionist/producer Drew Hester, and original Foo Fighters/Germs guitarist Pat Smear.
UPDATE: Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones also guest on covers of Led Zep's "Ramble On" and "Rock and Roll".
The Foos have no live dates scheduled at the moment, but much to the band's chagrin, you can sure as heck hear 'em over the loudspeakers at the next John McCain rally you may find yourself at.
