Fennesz Reveals New Album
Austrian soundscaper Christian Fennesz will issue Black Sea, his first solo LP under his surname in nearly five years, November 25 on vinyl and December 9 on CD via Touch.
The LP version features six compositions crafted using acoustic and electric guitars, synthesizers, electronics, computers, and live-improvising software lloopp, while the CD version tacks on two additional tracks. Most of the songs were conceived from the bottom up by Fennesz, although "Glide" is a joint effort with Thela's Rosy Parlane recorded live in Paris and later mixed down for the record. If you enjoyed the recently Forkcasted stream of album closer "Saffron Revolution", you'll be pleased to know the track is available for download purchase right now through the Touch webstore.
Black Sea's cover-- like that of pretty much every Touch release before it-- features gorgeous landscape photography by Jon Wozencroft. That's the CD's artwork above and the LP's below.
Fennesz has a pair of performances in Switzerland and Austria to attend to tomorrow (October 23) and the day after.
