Come Plan Full-Band Reunion Show

Come one, come all, and witness the return of Come! The Thalia Zedek-fronted 1990s indie rock mainstays and Matador Records alums have scheduled a lone full-band performance, taking place November 15 at Castellón, Spain's Teatre Principal as part of the 2008 Tanned Tin Festival.
A special sort of serendipity made the reunion gig possible, as Zedek writes on the blog of Spanish label Acuarela (whose founder Jesús Llorente also runs Tanned Tin). "Upon realizing that he had booked all four of the Come members (Chris [Brokaw] with the New Year, Thalia, Daniel [Coughlin], and Winston [Braman] with the Thalia Zedek Band) to play his festival this year, [Llorente] had the 'huevos' to request that Come perform a set. And we agreed!" Let's just hope nobody ditches them at the airport this time around.
And speaking of airports, better book a flight now. As Zedek tells it, "There are no plans for further shows or tours in the future. We all remain very good friends and still enjoy each others' company, but we are all very busy with more current projects!" The original band parted ways in 1998, but Zedek and Brokaw did reunite under the Come banner late last year to play a couple songs at the Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Really though, the reemergence of Come is but the tip of the excitement iceberg for Tanned Tin. The fest, which runs from November 12-16 at Castellón's Teatre Principal and Casino Antiguo, will also welcome the likes of Beach House, Mount Eerie, Retribution Gospel Choir, Tara Jane O'Neil, Jana Hunter, Mahjongg, Sam Amidon, Radar Bros., June Panic, Neptune, Deer Tick, Doveman, Zu, Fern Knight, and the aforementioned New Year and Thalia Zedek band. Quite a Comely crowd, if I do say so myself.
And hey, while we're reuniting bands involving Chris Brokaw: CODEINE PLEASE, somebody? kthxbye
