It was in early December of last year that we reported that Antony and the Johnsons' new album "is called The Crying Light, and it'll come out on Secretly Canadian in the spring. Exciting!"

Obviously, the album's timetable has changed considerably since then, but it looks like we're finally going to hear this thing. Secretly Canadian has announced an exact release date at last: The Crying Light is coming out on January 20, 2009. Exciting!

The Crying Light features arrangements by composer Nico Muhly, and its cover image features Japanese butoh dancer Kazuo Ohno, who also appeared on the front of Antony's Another World EP. (The title track from that EP is also included on The Crying Light.)

The album's tracklist is after the jump.

The Crying Light:

01 Her Eyes Are Underneath the Ground
02 Epilepsy Is Dancing
03 One Dove
04 Kiss My Name
05 The Crying Light
06 Another World
07 Daylight and the Sun
08 Aeon
09 Dust and Water
10 Everglade
