Sholi Sign to Quarterstick, Enlist Deerhoof Dude for LP
Up until now it's been touch and go for San Francisco art rock trio Sholi, who've released a few scattered singles for various imprints but hadn't yet found a label to call home. Turns out it will still be Touch and Go for Sholi, as in Touch and Go sister label Quarterstick, which has signed the guys and will issue their debut LP next year.
Sholi's first full-length is a self-titled affair, spanning eight tracks and hitting record shops February 17 thanks to Quarterstick. For the album, the band enlisted the production and engineering services of Deerhoof's Greg Saunier, who recorded Sholi at New, Improved Studios in nearby Oakland.
Having wrapped up a short run of shows with Iron and Wine and done their part to get Barack Obama into the White House, Sholi don't have any live dates lined up at the moment. Get acquainted with the act by way of the free Dreams Before People tour EP linked below, or the MP3 for the 7" version of "All That We Can See", a tune that turns up on the album as well.
And hey, check the cover art! Now that's what I call Beautiful Garbage.
