Bonnie "Prince" Billy Saves the Trees

Bonnie "Prince" Billy Saves the Trees

Way to play to type, beardo. But in this case, it's definitely a good thing. See, the Eastern Hemlock trees of Kentucky are dying off, thanks in no small part to an invasion of insects. And because trees are good and a lack of trees is bad, some concerned Bluegrass State citizens will host a get-together November 21 to raise awareness of the Eastern Hemlock's plight, and cash to help conservation efforts

The Tsuga Art & Music fest takes place at Lexington, Kentucky's Old Tarr Distillery, and features an art show with work by a couple dozen mostly local artists, plus music from Bonnie "Prince" Billy (in collaboration with Louisville band the Picket Line), the Swells, and Englishman. Proceeds go to Save Kentucky's Hemlocks, which is exactly what you think it is.
