Femi Kuti Brings LP to U.S., Tour to North America
Femi Kuti, eldest son of Afrobeat legend Fela and an international touring sensation himself, has crafted his first studio LP in seven years. Entitled Day by Day, the set has been out for a minute in much of the world, and was issued just today (November 18) in the U.S. via Downtown Recordings' Mercer Street imprint.
Day by Day finds saxman Femi occasionally trading in the reeds for piano and trumpet; he's joined as usual by the 17-piece Positive Force.
After wrapping their current run of European dates, Femi and Positive Force will make their way to North American early on in 2009 for a good bit of touring.
