Florence & the Machine Manufacture Single, Tour
Florence Welch-- not to be confused with Lawrence Welk-- is Florence & the Machine, but what exactly is Florence's machine? Well that all depends on the context, of course.
In the case of Florence's new jam "Dog Days Are Over", the machine of the moment is a turntable or digital music playing device, as a single for the track is due Stateside December 2 on 7" and megabytes from IAMSOUND. The set comes backed with a cover of the Candi Staton-sampling 1991 dance hit "You've Got the Love", and was produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco. Moshi Moshi, meanwhile, will issue the single on 7" in the UK on December 1 (it's available via iTunes UK right now); scope the video here.
Come early next year, Florence's machine of choice will be some kind of automobile as she tours pretty much every nook and cranny of the UK with Glasvegas, Friendly Fires, and White Lies. And as machines go, that tour has cash register written all over it.
