Portishead Pick "Magic Doors" for Third Third Single

Just in time for brooding season, Portishead have once again opened up their exemplary Third. With the help of a little prestidigitation, they have come upon yet another single. "Magic Doors" will be the third such thing from Third, due in a couple different formats December 15 from Island Records. You can land "Magic Doors" on a one-sided, etched 12" (just like "The Rip" and "Machine Gun"), or grab a downloadable version that features "Magic Doors" and live takes on "Silence", "Threads", and "Mysterons" from Portishead's triumphant Coachella set.

Beyond mining Third's riches for singles, things have been fairly silent on the spaghetti-western front for Portishead lately. Apart from the recent opening of Geoff Barrow's very small art gallery, there's no live dates to speak of, and no new jams to report. Let's hope these "Magic Doors" lead us not into another ten-year hibernation, yes?
