"Operation: Humble Kanye" was a success! Stephen Colbert toppled Kanye West on the iTunes "Top Albums" chart. His A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! soundtrack reached #2, while Kanye's 808s and Heartbreak fell to #4 (though their positions have since switched).

So how did Colbert celebrate? By rubbing it in Kanye's face and responding to Kanye's "Who the fuck is Stephen Colbert?" Twitter.

Favorite moments:

• Stephen Colbert is an amazing music critic: "Why buy Kanye's album? You can basically hear it for free. Just put a tin can to your ear and lean against a 'Pac-Man' machine."
• "You said, 'Stephen Colbert, I will never forget who the fuck you are.'"
• "Mr. West, I ain't saying you a gold digger, just don't understand that last Twitter."
• "Wow, that was a great song. Whoever wrote that was a genius. Everybody should buy that."
• While holding a cardboard cutout of Mike Myers: "Kanye West doesn't care about Stephen Colbert people."

So yeah, basically the whole thing. Also: Love that Colbert is still trying to turn this into a Kanye appearance on his show. Dear Kanye, please do it.
