Animal Collective Push Up Merriweather Vinyl Release
Vinyl records-- I hear they're really coming back! And this little tidbit certainly won't hurt the ongoing wax revival: Animal Collective have announced that they'll issue their highly anticipated banger Merriweather Post Pavilion on 180 gram gatefold vinyl with a digital download coupon on January 6 in North America. That's precisely two weeks before Domino's North American CD and digital release of the set. The UK release date for all things Merriweather remains January 12.
Domino's also plotting a bunch of record release parties the week Merriweather hits vinyl at various venues and record shops, where you'll get a chance to hear the album, snatch up some new swag for your Animal collection, and land some assorted Domino merch as well. Info about the parties can be found here.
In other AC news, Avey Tare recently spoke with Ireland's State magazine regarding the recent hubbub surrounding Grizzly Bear's run-in with the Web Sheriff in the wake of posting a leaked Merriweather song on their blog. Sounds like it's all good now.
