You scratch my back, I'll totally lend my "quietly magical touch" to your songs. We're guessing that's sorta how it went for Robert Wyatt, who returns the favor of a recent Hot Chip remix by joining the dance quintet on a trio of tunes he apparently personally selected off 2008's Made in the Dark.

The Hot Chip With Robert Wyatt and Geese EP hits select UK CD retailers December 22 thanks to Parlophone, and is rounded out by a remix of "One Pure Thought" by Geese, aka one half of the UK's noted Elysian Quartet. Geese also join both Hot Chip and Wyatt on the EP's third track, "We're Looking for a Lot of Love", so if you've ever wondered what the intersection of dance pop, avant-jazz folk rock, and contemporary classical sounds like, well, there you go.

Forkcast fiends will have already come across the new version of "Made in the Dark", presently available as a free download on Hot Chip's website. Generous chaps that they are, HC will also share "Lot of Love" gratis beginning December 19. What is this, the season of peace on earth and good will towards men or something?

In other news, grime O.G. Wiley has a new record out in the UK this week called See Clear Now, and it includes a track entitled "Step by Step", co-written and produced by Hot Chip and featuring an Alexis Taylor vocal alongside Wiley's rhymin'.

The dudes were also nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording, as you know. And further proving they are indeed everywhere at all times, they're due in Australia and New Zealand next month.
