Download the Knife Singer's Solo Album Tomorrow
Karin Dreijer Andersson is one half of the Knife, whose Silent Shout was only our favorite album of 2006. As previously reported, the Swedish singer is going solo with her new project Fever Ray. Based on the so-eerie-you-really-need-to-watch-it-now video for first single "If I Had a Heart", fans of Silent Shout won't have a hard time loving Fever Ray's self-titled debut, out on CD March 24 in the U.S. (via Mute), March 23 in Australia/New Zealand (via etcetc), and March 18 in Scandinavia (via Rabid) and the UK/rest of Europe (via Cooperative Music).
Don't feel like waiting that long to get lovingly creeped the fuck out? You're in luck-- the whole record will be available in the increasingly popular digital download format tomorrow, January 13. Yes, that's the day after today. Just stare at the album's cover up there-- featuring Andersson conjuring what looks like an emptied paper-towel roll-- until then...
And, in case you thought "If I Had a Heart" wasn't compressed and distorted enough to get your nerd party going, there's still hope: Laptop terrorists Fuck Buttons have remixed the track, which will be available on the 7" single format, out February 10.
Fever Ray:
