Jason Lytle (Ex-Grandaddy) Signs to Anti for Solo Debut

After Grandaddy broke up in 2005, the Cali psych-rock band's frontman Jason Lytle toured in support of final album Just Like the Fambly Cat all by his lonesome. Lytle (no relation to soca star Kevin Lyttle, unfortunately) has been relatively quiet ever since that album, though he turns up on M. Ward's forthcoming Hold Time.

But that'll change on May 19, when Anti- releases Lytle's solo debut, Yours Truly, the Commuter. And looking at the tracklist, all those song titles sound like they could easily be Grandaddy songs. Shocking, I know. (Sole possible exception: "It's the Weekend", which is more like a Kevin Lyttle song title.)

Thanks to Jake Woodward for the heads up!

Yours Truly, the Commuter
