Arcade Fire, Jay-Z Play Private Show for Obama Staffers

If you worked on President Barack Obama's campaign staff, you spent months grinding hard against serious odds. Maybe you had to endure racial epithets in rural Ohio or outright threats in Northern Florida. You probably had a two-week heart attack when McCain added Palin to the ticket and the polls temporarily turned around. You also earned the undying thanks of millions of people and helped lay a historic milestone that most of us never thought we'd live to see. And now you're getting a private show from two of the best live acts in the world. Safe to say: You deserve this.

Jay-Z and the Arcade Fire are playing a show for Obama staffers at the Armory in Washington, D.C, as the The New York Times' Caucus blog reports and the Arcade Fire's publicist confirms. When's the show happening? Oh, right now. Like, the Arcade Fire should literally be on stage as this article is being published to the internet.

Jay and the Arcade Fire both campaigned hard for Obama, and apparently they're not done yet. Maybe they'll even perform together! Actually, no. Scratch that. That would almost certainly be terrible. That would be worse than Jay bringing out Robert Gibbs to spit a hot 16 over "PSA".

Barring that, though, this should be an incredible show, and it seems a fair bet those staffers will hear that "My President is Black" remix at some point.

Thanks to Randy Moore for the tip.
