UPDATE: APPARENTLY THEY'RE GOING TO BE ON "THE COLBERT REPORT" TONIGHT, TOO. APPARENTLY IT'S ACTUALLY NEXT WEEK, FEBRUARY 9

TV on the Radio on the TV! (Sorry.) This Saturday, February 7, TVOTR will serve as the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live", in atonement for last week's Jason Mraz/Colbie Calliet/Steve Martin playing the banjo catastrophe.

Three days later, on February 10, singer Tunde Adebimpe will bring his solo project, Fake Male Voice, to the stage for the very first time. The gig at Brooklyn's Glasslands doubles as a release party for FMV's first 7"/DVD release. True Primes and DJ Andy Galkin will also perform at the show.

As previously reported, the release comes courtesy of HEARTFAST, and is very pretty to look at. Based on B-side "OMG!!!FMV!!!" (listen over at Forkcast), the new project sounds like TVOTR sans fancy production techniques. (And Adebimpe is sounding more like that New Radicals guy than ever-- a good thing!) So if you've ever wanted to see TVOTR without all those other dudes mucking about in the background, act now!

In other TVOTR news, the band won this year's Pazz & Jop albums poll with their excellent Dear Science. Well deserved, we say. They also cover David Bowie on the Heroes benefit compilation for War Child, and may or may not hit the Grammys with Lee "Scratch" Perry or show up on Wale's debut album.

TV on the Radio shows:

02-02 Perth, Australia - Big Day Out
04-18 Indio, CA - Coachella Festival
