News in Brief: Bell Orchestre, Elvis Perkins in Dearland, Buraka Som Sistema, Efterklang

-- Montreal instrumental sextet Bell Orchestre (featuring Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry and Sarah Neufeld) are getting ready to release their second album, As Seen Through Windows, on March 10 via new label Arts & Crafts. Because seeing something through a window makes it look a little different than if there was no window (also depends on how clean the window is). For instance, if you wear glasses and go to an upcoming Bell Orchestre show, you're technically seeing the As Seen Through Windows tour through two tiny windows. Think about it.

-- Elvis Perkins: "I will fuck your shit up." You: "Like in a hazy folk-rocking way that makes me want to move to upstate New York and buy a big dog?" Elvis Perkins: "Yes, in that way exactly." Well, you heard the man. Perkins' sophomore LP, Elvis Perkins in Dearland, credited to his band Elvis Perkins in Dearland, is out March 10 on XL. He'll prepare to tear your heart out (literally, like, reach through your chest and leave you a bloody, zombie mess) with a quickie U.S. tour in March.

-- One of the dudes in Portuguese DJ team Buraka Som Sistema is named Lil' John. No, it's not Lil Jon of energy drink and porn fame-- though both small Johns make music designed to make people lose control. Lil' John hasn't made anything close to "Yeah!", but the Buraka song "Sound of Kuduro" featured M.I.A., which is not bad. Their 2008 debut Black Diamond, previously only available overseas, will be purchasable in these United States starting April 7 thanks to the Fabric label. Because people in the U.S. will still be buying music in a couple months, right?

-- Copenhagen, stand up. Danish collective Efterklang will represent on a U.S. tour that starts in Seattle March 5. Feel those Sufjan-style overblown arrangements.
