Pitchfork.tv Presents: A>D>D

Synergasm: let's do this! Pitchfork.tv is like Pitchfork except it moves. You know this. The web TV channel is full of music videos and great programs: the one where bands play in high places, the one where bands play in low places and the one with Tim Harrington doing silly things, to name a few. And now there's a new show called A>D>D. That stands for Analog technology > mixed Digitally > and distributed Digitally; it's based on the symbol that appeared on CDs when they first came out.

Here's the deal: We record the bands visually and musically with straight DIY analog gear (Tascam four-track recorder and a VHS camera), then edit it digitally, and offer it to you right here on the Internet. Lo-fi meets hi-fi meets bands like Fucked Up, who star in the program's premiere episode, now playing. Other bands who have already four-tracked it for the Fork: Times New Viking, Vivian Girls, Max Tundra, Ponytail, Crystal Stilts, and Matt & Kim. The lo-fi concept runs deep-- the Ponytail episode was filmed in a vintage Queens laundromat. Dirty > Clean.
