Springsteen Defies Age and Time, Announces Tour
Bruce Springsteen's new album, Working on a Dream, came out yesterday. According to our own Stephen M. Deusner, the record is a "typically engaged" affair that "works hard on sound, but sleeps on actual songs." So it's not Bruce's best; it's not Born to Run.
But it does give the Boss another excuse to take his E Street buddies out on yet another world tour, which is always cause for celebration. Bruce is a 59-year-old who acts like a 29-year-old on stage. He's a national treasure and a biologically remarkable being. If you've never seen Bruce with the E Street Band before, I implore you-- go to one of these shows. Sell the car, whatever. Get a ticket. Who knows how many more E Street tours there will be?
After this Sunday's Super Bowl halftime extravaganza, Bruce will kick the tour off in earnest April 1 in San Jose before traveling through the U.S. and Europe through July. [Hey look, there are a few days off during Coachella...and he plays L.A. right before...just sayin'. - Ed.]
