Vivian Girls Hit the Road
The sha-la-la shamble-punks in the Vivian Girls have already been though all the fifty bazillion successive waves of hype and backlash that every Brooklyn band has to go through these days, and now they are officially bubbling. In April, they'll take their small-stakes bubble-core to one of the big stages at the Coachella Festival.
That leaves them some time before the big show, and so they're doing exactly what any budget-minded indie band would do in their shoes: Playing a bunch of shows. They'll open a few dates in February for diametrically opposed sooth-crooner M. Ward, including one weird one at Harlem's Apollo Theater. And then, come April, they'll tour westward to Coachella with the schizo-pop art-project Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti.
