News in Brief: D'Angelo/Prince, Alela Diane, Azita, Yoko Ono

-- Remember when we said that D'Angelo and Prince might be working together? Well, turns out they might not be. D'Angelo's manager Lindsay Guion, who possibly has one of the worst jobs in the world, tells Billboard that Prince isn't actually confirmed for the totally-forthcoming-they-swear D'Angelo album. Not too surprising considering that trying to get two mercurial R&B enigmas into the studio together is like herding ghosts.

-- On February 17 in the U.S., free-floating California hippie-folk chick Alela Diane will release sophomore album To Be Still on Rough Trade. She'll follow that up by opening for Blitzen Trapper on tour.

-- More February 17 album release news: That's the day Drag City will release How Will You?, the latest from Chicago noise-scene vet Azita. It features contributions from Tortoise's John Herndon, Matt Lux of Isotope 217, and others.

-- This should be, uh, interesting: On February 18, Mindtrain/Twisted will digitally release Yoko Ono's "Give Peace a Chance: The International Remixes", wherein folks like CSS, Richard Fearless, and Karsh Kale will have their way with the dorm-room staple. Maybe that CSS remix will be the final straw that gets the U.S. out of Iraq.
