Radiohead to Appear on South Park

2:1 odds of Yorke killing Kenny
Apparently ready to discard their morose, apocalyptic image with one fell swoop, centers-of-the-rock-universe Radiohead are scheduled to appear on the television show South Park. In the episode, entitled "Scott Tenorman Must Die," Cartman buys pubic hair from an "older kid" named Scott Tenorman in a scheme to convince his 4th grade pals of his manliness. Unfortunately for Cartman, the plan goes awry, and the pube-donor is left to feel Cartman's revenge. The website describes Radiohead's role as "vital," but offers few other details. The band will be doing their own voices for the show, which airs on July 11th at 10:00pm Eastern Standard Time.

In other Radiohead news of John Tesh-like proportions, Thom Yorke recently admitted in a Q Magazine interview that Olympic organizers had approached the band about composing the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics theme song. (Tesh, of course, composed the NBC Barcelona Summer Games music, in addition to the compelling, legendary NBA On NBC theme.) Yorke said the band was "tempted," but balked at the idea of being associated with corporate sponsors. That is, unless they mass-distribute his album or produce the wildly popular comedy series South Park.
