Butthole Surfers Crap Another One Out

King Coffey, my man, you are a true anus

Still reveling in the fact that their bandname first became repulsive to concerned mothers and uptight radio program directors about twenty years ago, the Butthole Surfers are prepared to release their first effort in over 1,825 bowel movements-- assuming that one per day is the norm, of course. Entitled The Weird Revolution, the new album will be released on August 28th by Hollywood Records, which is rapidly building its name on decrepit ex-superstars with legal issues who enjoy squeezing their unintentional hilarity out upon the suspecting public. Just like the real Hollywood!

While early on they were infamous for their designation and shock-rock tendencies, current band members Gibby Haynes, Paul Leary, and King Coffey have inexplicably experienced Top 40 radio success in recent years (okay, it was 1996, but we're updating to make it topical). In an effort to continue their chart reign, the first single from The Weird Revolution will be "The Shame of Life," a track that Haynes, no stranger to the topic, co-wrote with redneck has-been Kid Rock. The album is expected to spend at least three weeks in Billboard upper-chart limbo, after which the band will be disposed of in a sanitary fashion, likely involving, but not limited to, lots of flushing. Check out this ridonkulous tracklist:

01 The Weird Revolution
02 The Shame of Life
03 Dracula from Houston
04 Venus
05 Shit like That
06 Mexico
07 Intelligent* Guy
08 Get Down
09 Jet Fighter
10 The Last Astronaut
11 Yentel
12 They Came In

* Intelligence may vary. See personal life for details. Void where prohibited.
