Appleseed Cast Invents Ambient Emo

Multitracked whimpering will change music as we know it!

According to the Deep Elm website, Appleseed Cast are ready to let loose with the first volume of their newest project, Low Level Owl. On their debut album, the band was content to pine away in the squalor of post-Mineral emo despair, but their sophomore effort, Mare Vitalis, found them experimenting with ambient textures.

For Low Level Owl, Appleseed Cast has recorded well over two hours of "lush melody, expertly paced dynamics and blossoming atmospherics." Furthermore, the band invites their fans to "listen to slowly building waves of guitars and drums that ultimately crest, bursting into the shimmering tears of honest men." Sounds a little fruity to us. The second volume of Low Level Owl is slated to be released on October 23th. Here's the tracklist for the first volume:

01 The Waking of Pertelotte
02 On Reflection
03 Blind Man's Arrow
04 Flowers Falling from Dying Hands
05 Messenger
06 Doors Lead to Questions
07 Steps and Numbers
08 Sentence
09 Bird of Paradise
10 Mile Marker 11 Convict
12 A Tree for Trials
13 Signal
14 View of a Burning City
