Wilco Splits with Reprise

Sinatra drops them from beyond the grave

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Wilco has axed their longtime major label, Reprise Records. The label, which is reportedly restructuring their imperial royal management hierarchy, had expressed concern with the salability and mainstream accessibility of Wilco's new LP, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Refusing to make the changes to the album the label requested, the band decided to sever their working relationship with Reprise and to release the LP themselves. No word yet on potential consequences of the band's decision (such as the ostensible delay of the release date), as Wilco's management were unavailable for comment.
