New Hood Album Slated for Fall Release

Bringing their catalog's estimated worth to $500

Hood is completing work on their currently untitled fifth full-length album, which is scheduled for a November 1st release. The record is a follow-up to their first recording for Chicago's Aesthetics label, the Home is Where It Hurts EP, released earlier this year. The group will be playing Europe with the slo-mo trio Low in the Autumn with their first North American tour following next spring.

On the new album, Hood's unmistakable space noise will take further steps away from its 90's kiwi-flavored early Pavement/Sonic Youth origins. On three of the album's ten tracks, the band worked with the west coast hip-hop collective Anticon/cLOUDDEAD. It is rumored that Anticon and Hood may even do a special release to coincide with Hood's spring North American tour. If they decide to title it Anticon 'N' The Hood, please kill us immediately.

In the meantime, there is no shortage of Hood material out there. The band has released a total of four full-length albums, one singles compilation, eleven singles, four split singles, twenty-six compilation tracks, and four remix records. Impress your friends! Collect 'em all!
