Lift to Experience Converts the UK

Steers, Queers relocate to Arkansas

Shoegazer-by-way-of-the-Bible-belt rockers Lift to Experience are embarking on a United Kingdom tour in support of their new album, The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, which was released domestically on July 31st through former Cocteau Twin Simon Raymonde's Bella Union label. That weird ringing in your ears lately is just the buzz for this double-disc release, which features fourteen songs about Texas being the promised land. This makes sense, as our president could not be more Jesusian if his head glowed.

Of course, they can't spread their gospel through recording and touring alone, so Lift to Experience are branching out into film. Shooting has been completed on a video for their song "These Are the Days," which bears the dubious honor of being "the first promo to be shot using cameras attached to each member as they play." We're having a hard time imagining what that's going to look like, but can practically guarantee it won't top Slash's guitar solo in "November Rain."

Also, Bella Union is distributing a short film of Lift to Experience playing live in Denton, Texas to a bunch of independent theaters. You know the kind-- the ones that show French sex films, documentaries and art movies with dramatic rape scenes, people using drugs and realistic swearing. Check your local listings.
