Pulp Ready for Another Go

Opportunity to "meet up in the year 2000" sadly missed

Slowly but surely, information concerning the next long-player from those demented boys of Sheffield, Pulp, is trickling in. The still-fucking-untitled album will be released on October 15th by Island Records. According to Pulp People, the Pulp fan club (they still have those?), the band will release a double A-side single on October 1st featuring "Trees" and "Sunrise." Those Americans unfamiliar with the term "double A-side" needn't worry, as the chances of either "A-side" getting radio play over here are slimmer than Jarvis Cocker himself.

The LP comes after a protracted series of recording sessions which saw the band abandon a whole album's worth of songs last year and start again from scratch. They have since turned to fellow Brit legend Scott Walker to produce the record. It's the first time Walker has performed that duty aside from his own projects. This will be the first release from Pulp since 1998's This is Hardcore, which found the band confronting the exciting topic of aging. The tracks:

01 Bad Cover Version
02 Trees
03 I Love Life
04 Bob Lind
05 Birds in Your Garden
06 Wicker Man
07 Minnie Timperley
08 Weeds
09 Origin of the Species
10 Roadkill
11 Sunrise
