Innocence Mission Guitarist Completes Solo LP

That chick with the voice isn't on this one

Don Peris, guitarist and one third of the husband-and-wife-plus-some-bassist-guy trio the Innocence Mission, has completed his first solo album, Ten Silver Slide Trombones, for self-release. While the title indicates otherwise, the disc isn't a series of high school brass and percussion ensemble tunes. Instead, it picks up where the Innocence Mission's last album, Birds of My Neighborhood, left off-- but with Peris singing in place of his wife Karen. Naturally.

The Innocence Mission's distinctive, folky blend of beauty and melancholy will also be heard in stores on September 25th, with the release of Small Planes, a collection of b-sides and unreleased tracks. Look for it on the What Are Records label. Or don't. We're not your mom.
