Cerberus Shoal Prepare to Release 2xCD Epic

Album arrives too late for Halloween window-blaring

Cerberus Shoal, Maine's very own post-space-rock ensemble, will release a follow-up to last year's excellent, Crash My Space Yacht, on November 19th. The double album, entitled Mr. Boy Dog, comes to us courtesy of the folks at Temporary Residence. It also marks the first time the band has released an album on both vinyl and CD. For the dedicatedly obsessed, there will be a limited edition gatefold version of the vinyl.

What matters, though, is what will be inside that gatefold. The 70-minute album is divided into two six-song sets. One set will reportedly be mellow and ambient, while the other set will be "hectic" and more rockin'. New stylistic additions include catchier, shorter songs and occasional flashes of sonic malevolence. Signature elements like jazzy, weeping trumpets and warped, bass-driven polyrhythms, however, still remain.
