Atari Teenage Riot's Carl Crack Dead at 30

Carl Crack, co-founder of Atari Teenage Riot, was found dead in his Berlin apartment on September 6th. He was thirty years old. Though autopsy results reportedly showed evidence of pills and alcohol in his stomach, the actual cause of death has not been released.

Crack, who released a now out-of-print 21-track solo album on Digital Hardcore Recordings in 1998 titled Black Ark, originally hailed from Swaziland, Africa. He later moved to Berlin, and in 1992, co-founded Atari Teenage Riot alongside Hanin Elias and Alec Empire. As the band's MC and DJ, he played a prominant role in all of the group's records, and his contributions were integral to the ATR sound.
