Court and Spark Prepare Second Album, Tour

Joni Mitchell almost as upset as we are about bandname

Just a year after their debut release, Ventura Whites, on tUMULt, San Francisco's Court and Spark are ready to release their second album of beautiful and haunting alt-country melodies. The album, entitled Bless You, will be issued by SF's local indie fave, Absolutely Kosher Records, and will hit stores on October 16th.

Ex-Go to Blazes member Tom Heyman, who plays pedal steel, has been added as a permanent member of the band. The album will also feature guest appearances by the Byrds' Gene Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers. And according to the Absolutely Kosher website, John Vanderslice, head of Tiny Telephone Studios where the album was recorded, went on record as saying that it's the best album ever recorded at the studio. Damn. Here are some upcoming tour dates:

10-17 Brooklyn, NY - Northsix
10-18 Philadelphia, PA - The Khyber
10-20 Pittsburgh, PA - Gooski's
10-26 Toledo, OH - TBA
10-26 Bowling Green, KY - Nate and Walley's Fish Bowl
10-28 Easthampton, MA - Easthampton Town Hall (w/Tara Jane O'Neil)
