Solex's Elisabeth Esselink Tours World

Hitmeister summoned to take care of cats in her absence
Apparently, Elisabeth Esselink has found someone to watch over her Amsterdam record shop for a month and a half, because she'll be away having grand adventures in the U.S., the Netherlands, Germany, and Austria. Esselink, better known to audiences as Solex, is touring in support of her new album, Low Kick and Hard Bop, which was released last week by Matador Records. Prior to its release, the album was described by Esselink as "an absolute No-Bullshit record," which would put it in line with her earlier releases, Pick Up and Solex vs. the Hitmeister. Also in line with previous Solex releases, the source material for Low Kick and Hard Bop includes a mixture of "old vinyl, crappy un-sellable CDs, television (Wheel Of Fortune!), the 'better looking' talk show hosts (they seem to sound better as well), noisy deaf people, films, bootlegs (again), radio, street-noises and animals." Quite the mix.
