Members of At the Drive-In Tour as Sparta
Haircut plans still on backburner
Were you unhappy when At the Drive-In declared their plans to take an extended
hiatus? If you answered "yes," you'll be happy to know that Jim, Paul, and Tony
from At the Drive-In are in the midst of a tour under the name Sparta. The tour,
which takes the band through select southwestern U.S. cities, will end with a
stop in Reykjavic, Iceland for the Iceland Airwaves Festival. Yeah, Iceland's
kind of out of the way, but we hear it's pretty this time of year.
Sparta plans to record and release an album soon, but no dates have been set. In the meantime, they've made three MP3s available through their website. The band describes the MP3s as "a rough draft," but they're certainly better than nothing. (Or are they? We don't know. We haven't haven't heard them.) As for At the Drive-In, they still have no plans to reform. Crushing.
