Iggy and the Stooges Release Lost Tapes

Without any recollection of ever having recorded them

A lot of bands have released collections of rarities and unreleased tracks over the years-- Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, the Who, Jimi Hendrix, and um, A Minor Forest, to name a few. These posthumous recordings provide a retrospective look at these now-classic performers as they began their careers.

Now, Iggy and the Stooges are releasing "one from the vault"-- a collection of rarities and jam session tapes. Bomp Records and Iggy Pop are sifting through old tapes in search of treasure. Thus far, they've found three songs that never made it onto albums ("Wild Love," "I Came from Nowhere" and "Old King Live Forever"). Bomp Records claims to have kept this material in their vaults, unmarked, for the past twenty years. I'll bet they were right next to that Misfits coffin.

Also included on the CD are some of the cover tunes that the band worked out during the lean, early days during jam sessions, including Cream's "I'm So Glad," Butterfield Blues Band's "Mellow Down Easy," Bob Dylan's "Ballad of Hollis Brown," and Bo Diddley's "I'm a Man." The album, entitled Wild Love, will be available for purchase October 23rd.
