Four Tet Tours with Ninja Tune DJs
British-based indies Ninja Tune and Domino will team up with a toppling lineup of DJs and electronic artists for a North American tour. The Ninjas will be tag-teaming four turntables on the tour, which will support the label's new mix CD series, Solid Steel Presents (named for the long-running BBC radio show headed up by Ninja Tune founders Coldcut). The first disc in the series features DJ Food serving up some tasty trip-hop and jungle mixes alongside Solid Steel producer DK.
Domino artist Kieren Hebden, the sole musician behind the computer music mastery of Four Tet (and frontman of British post-rockers Fridge), will mix cyber-sampling and rhythms from songs off his widely respected Pause LP. A Domino spokesperson describes Hebden's new release as an "electronic record with a pastoral folky touch." No hippies please.
