Hey Mercedes Continues U.S. Tour
Vagrant Records' Hey Mercedes are on tour to promote the release of their newly released debut full-length, Everynight Fire Works. Originally due out in July, the record was pushed back a half dozen times, and finally saw daylight on October 23rd. Drummer Damon Atkinson, bassist Todd Bell, and singer Bob Nanna started playing together as Hey Mercedes just one month after the collapse of their former band, Braid. With the addition of guitarist Mark Dawursk, an ex-member of Alligator Gun and former Promise Ring roadie, the band was complete. According to the band's official website, while there are some minor similarities to Braid, Hey Mercedes is an "entity all its own, completely independent." Too bad. Hey Mercedes will share the stage with Jade Tree emoites New End Original or their emoite labelmates Saves the Day at the following locales:
