Silver Apples' Sybarite to Release New LP

Customers who bought Silver Apples also purchased: Graffix-brand 32" neon green water pipe, rubber o-ring, XL-size wire screen (pack of six), Ametek digital scale, Bic special edition Jerry Garcia series lighter

On October 29th, Temporary Residence will release Sybarite's second album, Placement Issues. Sybarite is the alias for Xian Hawkins, the multi-instrumentalist who toured and recorded for the revitalized obscuro proto-electronics duo the Silver Apples in the mid-90s. With the continuation of the Silver Apples in question, Hawkins began writing and recording on his own material.

In a niche between downtempo electronica and a modern chamber ensemble, Placement Issues is said to "combine bass, acoustic and electric guitars, organs, pianos, drums, electronics, horns, and synths" into a giddy concoction both sophisticated and catchy. We get light headed just thinking about it. This follow-up to last year's musicforafilm is a compilation of long out of print singles and unreleased tracks. There are no plans at the moment for a tour in this corner of the galaxy. Considering the dearth of information out there on the mysterious Sybarite, you may wish to consult Miss Cleo about Xian's future activities.
