The Flaming Stars Go on Tour

"Bling-blingin'," "fo' sheazy" not passable as indie rock dialect

Psychobilly Brits the Flaming Stars are headed over to our shores for a few engagements along the Northeast and Midwest. All of the usual adjectives apply to here, from "down-and-dirty" to "totally effing nuts!" Yawn. Anyways, the Stars have just released a couple of items on Alternative Tentacles-- a full-length entitled Ginmill Perfume, and a 7" featuring the songs "One Lonely Night" and "Days Like This."

The tour will conclude with a reading of selections from lead singer Max Ducharne's recently published book, Straight from the Fridge, Dad: A Dictionary of Hipster Slang, issued by Random House. Ducharne, having gleaned scads of information about hipsterism from his years with the Flaming Stars, will be imparting said knowledge to an audience full of apathetic, cynical youths. Around here, we call that preaching to the choir, folks. Dates:

11-02 New York, NY - Wowsville Record Store (in-store performance)
11-03 New York, NY - Brownie's
11-04 Providence, RI - Green Room
11-05 Boston, MA - TBA
11-07 Chicago, IL - Abbey Pub
11-09 New York, NY - See Hear Bookstore (book reading)
