Mercury Rev Announce North American Tour
John Williams wants his orchestra back
Fresh off completing a 17-date jaunt through Europe, Mercury Rev is ready to pack
up their harmoniums, mellotrons, and bowed saws and continue on through North
America for 14 dates. On the tour, Jonathan Donahue and the Boyz (like Heavy
D, but without the portly rhymeslinger) will attempt the challenging task of
recreating the richly layered textures-- and by that, we mean "strings"-- of
their latest album, All Is Dream, in a live setting. As part of the
tour, the Rev will support Wilco for six dates, including what promises to be
the party of the year in Missoula on November 27th. After wrapping up the tour
in New York City on December 12th, the band will continue their quest for world
domination with five dates in Japan. Best of luck with that, boys.
Koizumi's one hard-ass strategist.
