Heavens to Betsy Compilation in 2002

There was life before Sleater-Kinney

These days, Corin Tucker is known primarily for rocking your ass off as a member of Time Magazine's favorite rock band, Sleater-Kinney (how disturbing is it, by the way, when Time is actually kinda right about something?). Once upon a Time, though, Tucker, along with Motel No-Tell's Tracy Sawyer, made her descent from Mount Olympia as a member of Heavens to Betsy. In spite of having a really kick-ass name, Heavens to Betsy never achieved anything near the fame of Sleater-Kinney, and the duo produced only one full album, 1994's Calculated, in addition to a number of scattered 7-inches and bits on compilations. The upcoming rarities album, scheduled for a May 2002 release on Kill Rock Stars, will presumably gather some of this extraneous material, in addition to all the other fun never-before-released stuff these types of albums tend to contain.
