Mazarin to Spread Holiday Cheer via U.S. Tour

That's an awful fucked up way of going about it

Philadelphia's Mazarin are set to embark on a three-week tour of these United States with a host of varying acts in support of their latest album, A Tall-Tale Storyline. Following the surprising success of their debut, Watch It Happen, Mazarin, fronted by Quentin Stoltzfus, signed with the good people at spinART to create an equally impressive second album. What? No sophomore slump? Not for these cheesesteak-scarfin' Eagles fans.

Stoltzfus, formerly the drummer for Philly's improv trio the Azusa Plane, as well as lesser known bands like Therisphere and China the Beautiful, got together with fellow Philadelphia musician/producer Brian McTear (whose production credits include albums by Matt Pond PA, Burning Brides, and Lefty's Deceiver) and Lenola drummer Sean Byrne to form Mazarin. Their blend of spacy, fuzzed-out guitar and "fa-la-la" vocal harmonies epitomize the resurgent psychedelic sound that's been haunting Philly for the past couple years. Now if only they could use their powers to conjure up a Flyers championship.
