Brainwashed Releases 3xCD Compilation
Jon Whitney created Brainwashed.com with his bare hands in 1996. Since then, he and an army of volunteers from around the world have created a passionate music alliance while living off the fruit of the land. Not unlike a euphonious halfway house, the website was designed to give a home to bands and labels in need without monetary compensation. Unlike many, Brainwashed thrives on its informational and aesthetically pleasing websites without all that "ad nauseum."
A while back, Whitney had a brilliant idea akin to the idea of solid state physics. Why not ask the artists if they would be willing to contribute a track for The Wire magazine? The response was overwhelming, and the product is now available for preorder.
Brain in the Wire is a 3xCD compilation of new and exclusive tracks by all kinds of Brainwashed-related artists. Subscribers to The Wire were the first to peruse "Disc A" when the CD was sent with the October 2000 issue. Again, subscribers will be the first lucky bastards to grasp "Disc B" in their scrawny little hands when the May 2002 issue arrives at their doorsteps.
The official release date of the compilation is April 16th, 2002 (also the 6th birthday of Brainwashed.com), and pre-orders are available now through February 14th, or whenever they sell out. It's kind of like winning the lottery, except that instead of a few million, you get three CDs, a large pull-out "family portrait" poster, a metal box wrapped in wire, and some mysterious "other stuff."
Only 1500 sets will be sold, and the set is exclusively available through Brainwashed.com. It'll set you back $30 (or a little more if you're outside the U.S.), but look what you get for your money:
