Blackalicious Readies Sophomore LP

The hip-hop group, not the bubblegum

Bay area hip-hop/funk/soul brothers Blackalicious (aka Gift of Gab and Chief Excel) are planning to embark on a week's worth of shows during the upcoming holiday season. The duo will be supporting their forthcoming release, Blazing Arrow, which will be their first for MCA, the major label that lured them away from the DJ Shadow-affiliated Quannum Projects imprint. The record serves as the follow-up to Blackalicious' highly touted 2000 release, Nia, a solid collection of intelligent beats and dense, lucid lyrics (the curious might want to check out the track "A to Z"). It was originally slated for release on September 26th, but has now been pushed back to March 19th. Here are the tour dates:

12-25 Los Angeles, CA - Club Soho
12-26 Victoria, BC - Legends
12-27 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
12-28 Seattle, WA - i-spy
12-29 Portland, OR - Crystal Ballroom
12-30 Eugene, OR - Wow Hall
